Silver Kyte Mark Success for an ACE PE department

2 November 2014

The ACE Academy has been awarded the Sliver Kyte Mark for the PE department which emphasizes the achievements and accomplishments of not only the department, but more importantly The ACE Academy students.  The award recognises the accumulation of hours available for over 35% of pupils to participate in a wide range of sporting opportunities such as Netball, Water Polo, Rugby, Handball and many more. Leadership opportunities available at The ACE Academy were taken up by more than 10% of the school by leading in events such as the Primary Black Country Games Tennis tournament final. Our Academy's School Games Day, which was a great success, involving all the students in the Academy in roles as participant, leader or spectator was key to qualifying for the award.

The ACE Academy also finished 3rd out of 54 schools in the whole of the Sports Black Country Medal table with a total of 94 medals from 2014.  This further highlighted the sports success of students and staff in striving for our ACERS values; Achievement, Challenge, Enjoyment, Respect and Self-discipline. With the culmination of the wide ranging sporting triumphs the Sainsbury’s Sports Mark validator stated ‘The ACE Academy provided evidence of meeting or exceeding the required criteria in order to achieve the Silver School Games Mark’.  Well done to all involved,.  We re now going for Gold!
